The Sherpani Col Trek is one of Nepal’s most demanding and adventurous high pass treks, designed for experienced trekkers seeking a true expedition style journey. Located between the Makalu and Everest regions, this route connects remote valleys through extreme alpine terrain and high glacial passes.
The trek begins in the Makalu region, following wild and isolated trails through the Barun Valley before reaching the technical crossing of Sherpani Col. This section involves glacier travel, steep snow slopes, and the use of ropes and mountaineering equipment, requiring good physical fitness and prior high altitude experience.
Often combined with West Col and Amphu Laptsa Pass, the Sherpani Col Trek is not a standard teahouse trek but a full camping expedition. It offers unmatched solitude, dramatic mountain scenery, and a strong sense of achievement, making it suitable only for skilled trekkers prepared for extreme conditions.
